Roy was born in 1921 and passed away in 1993. He was born near Rayne and began learning guitar in 1939. After World War II, he played with numerous bands including Joe Falcon and the Silver Bell String Band, Lawrence Walker and the Wandering Aces, Iry LeJeune, Aldus Roger and the Lafayette Playboys, the Hackberry Ramblers and Pat Breaux and Red Beans and Rice. During the 1980's he fronted his own band, Roy Morgan and the Cajun Cousins.
Additional musicians included Blackie Forrestier, Pee Wee Broussard, Leo Soileau and Jo-El Sonnier with whom he performed in numerous Louisiana and Texas clubs and halls. As a vocalist he worked with both Aldus Roger and Cleveland Mire, recording "Hells of Fire," Prison Waltz," "Snap Beans Are Not Salty" and "Lovesick Waltz".
