E. J. Rogers was born in 1932. With original inspiration from Louis Cormier, the Coulee Crouche native learned the guitar, drums and bass. At age 14, he began playing guitar in Cormier's band, the Moonlight Playboys. Through the years, he played with Tophile Picard and the Sulphur Playboys, Allen Thibodeaux, and the French Ramblers, Bert Bertrand & the Cajun Friends and Shawn Saucier and the Calcasieu Cajuns.
E. J. has played at festivals, benefits and clubs throughout South Louisiana during his 60 year music career. During his 20 year tenure with the Calcasieu Cajuns, he recorded two CD's: "Cajuns on the Go" and "Calcasieu Cajun Style". As a vocalist, he recorded "Chere Tout Tout," "Flames of Hell," "Valse de Meche," "Saturday Night Waltz" and "Drunkard's Dream".
