Bienvenu to the Cajun French Music Association Lake Charles Chapter website.  Please visit our website often as I will do my best to keep everyone informed about our association and all we have planned as we enter into another new year.  Visit the events we host and continue to watch for more pictures as I get them loaded.  In addition, we hope you will join us January 4th, 2010, at the Lake Charles Civic Center for our first meeting of the new year.  Come and be our guests and see what we are all about.  Enjoy great food and great live music.  Make new friends and get reacquainted with old friends.  From our CFMA family to yours, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a very blessed New Year.

I invite you to contact me if you have something, or someone, you would like to see included in our website.  Watch for great Cajun music and pictures to be incorporated as well.

The Cajun French Music Association of Louisiana, Inc., is a non-profit (501-C3) organization comprised of musicians and non-musicians of Cajun and non-Cajuns whose sole purpose is to promote and preserve Cajun music and culture wherever possible.

The CFMA was founded and chartered in November 1984 by Harry LaFleur of Eunice, Louisiana.  Since its' beginning with a handful of people, chapters have been established in the cities of Eunice, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Lake Charles, Houma, Lafayette, and New Iberia, Louisiana, as well as Gulf Coast, Houston, and San Antonio, Texas.  Associate chapters are in the process of being formed in other states as well.

The Lake Charles Chapter was chartered on September 28, 1987.

We are proud to say that we have built our CFMA Building located at 3481 East Prien Lake Road, in Lake Charles.  This facility is still in the process of being completed as we still need air conditioning, heating, kitchen equipment, and several other things but we have held very successful events there so do come by and see it.  We are very proud of what we have accomplished thus far and look forward to completion of this facility as our CAJUN FRENCH MUSIC ASSOCIATION home, HALL OF FAME, and Cajun Museum.  If you would like information on renting our building, please contact Robert Hebert, Building Chairman, at 337-598-4149.

If you have something you would like to have published on the website, you may email me at webmaster@cfmalakecharles.org

Merci!
